My name is Bets McKenzie and I'd like to welcome you to the Sandolls website.

Sandolls cattery was created by my good friend, Lori Sciortino, in 2004. Lori adored her Ragdolls, and along with her daughter, Alyssa, raised wonderful kittens.

I adopted two Ragdoll kittens from Lori, Andy and Mickey, from the mothers Savannah and Dakota, respectively. They are the loves of my life.

In Memory of Lori

In 2008, Lori was diagnosed with terminal cancer and we lost her not long afterwards.

I brought Lori's beautiful kittens and cats home with me on July 12, 2008.  I wanted to keep Sandolls going for Lori's daughter, Alyssa.  I have accomplished that and Alyssa has continued to be my  right hand gal as she pursues a teaching degree in Special Education.

Becoming involved in breeding Ragdolls has certainly gotten me off the couch! I am having the most wonderful and entertaining time of my life.

Our Cats' Lifestyle

Located in Columbia, South Carolina, my cats have the run of my home.

I also have a beach house in Garden City Beach, SC on the Grand Strand.

When they have newborns, the queens, Savannah and Dakota, have rooms of their own. They are wonderful mommies.

Savannah inspects my hands each time I leave her room, as if she is doing a head count to make sure I don't have one of her babies.

Dakota is a very loving mommy and she has very loving kittens.

Luckily my owners keep in touch and we share pictures from birth to long after they are grown.  These parents share their joy and pictures with me and it makes everything Ragdoll worthwhile.

About Ragdolls

For those of you that are not familiar with the Ragdoll breed, let me just say that they are the most loving and "doglike" in their personality. They are all waiting at the door when I come home from work. They want to be with their "humans" all the time. We can't watch TV without one on our laps or right beside us. Many of them "fetch", dropping their toys beside us for us to throw for them.

They have semi-long, non-matting fur so they are very easy to maintain. They have blue eyes and come in various patterns and colors. I am keeping with the traditional lines of blue and seal, mitted and bi-color.

Ragdolls are the largest of domestic cats, some males reaching 20 pounds at their maturity in 3-4 years. The name "Ragdoll" comes from their ability to lay relaxed in your arms. They love to be held and coddled. They have no natural fear so they are wonderful with dogs and children.

A Sandolls Kitten...

All our kittens are placed after receiving FVRCP series shot. They are spayed or neutered at 11 weeks and never develop bad habits.  A visit to your vet is encouraged . Sandolls kittens are guaranteed for life under most circumstances. They are healthy happy kittens ready to make you laugh at every flip and flop.

All questions are welcome. Feel free to call. Thank you for visiting the Sandolls website.
